The Fort St James Primary Care Society is raising funds for community healthcare workers. On October 30th, Dr Pieter van Zyl kicked off the fundraising efforts by running from the Health Centre to the Tl’azt’en Health Centre in Tache, a distance of 53km and equivalent to 1.25 full marathons. Starting at 7:30am he completed his run in 5 hours and 5 minutes and was welcomed by members of the community who had gathered in support.

Dr. Pieter had set a goal of raising $20,000 towards this fundraiser and we are happy to report that he surpassed this goal by raising $23,455.20.
