Founded in 2012 in response to the physician shortage, the Fort St James Primary Care Not-For-Profit Society is a nine-member volunteer board. Until the summer of 2024 the society managed the Health Centre in partnership with Northern Health. The Health Centre is currently transitioning to being operated by Northern Health with The Primary Care Society playing a supporting role in community initiatives.

We are looking forward to the relocation of our community’s health care professionals in January of 2025. It is exciting to see this project in its final stages.
