Stuart Lake Hospital

Stuart Lake Hospital is a six acute care bed facility with six additional long-term care beds. The Hospital serves the community of Fort St James as well as the First Nation’s Communities of Takla, Yekooche, Nak’azdli, and Tl’azt’en (Binche and Tachie). The hospital has 24/7 emergency, diagnostic, laboratory, palliative care and a pharmacy. It offers full and part time physicians as well as visiting specialists.

The new Stuart Lake Hospital is under construction and slated to open in January 2025. It will be a new state-of-the-art hospital with 18 community care and 9 acute care beds as well as expanded laboratory and diagnostic imaging. Triple the size of the existing facility (approximately 6,300 square feet), the new hospital will model excellence in health care, incorporating modern best practices and standards, as well as bringing multiple health services under one roof.
